US Helsinki Commission tol hold hearings related with Azerbaijan
The Commission informed OSCE and Council of Europe have some concern about situation in Azerbaijan.

US Helsinki Commission will hold hearings "Human rights and situation of democracy in Azerbaijan "on July 29. The Commission informed OSCE and Council of Europe have some concern about situation in Azerbaijan. It is related with freedom of media, political prisoners and holding elections.  

Helsinki Comission considers Azerbaijan has obtained opportunities of holding elections in accordance with obligations before OSCE and holding other reforms. The hearings will review human rights and situation of democracy in Azerbaijan.

Congressman Alcee L. Hastings, Chairman of the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe (U.S. Helsinki Commission) and Co-Chairman Senator Benjamin L. Cardin will hold a hearing. Azerbaijani Ambassador to US Yashar Aliyev also will take part in the hearings.

US Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor David Kramer and official of ƏFreedom House" Kris Volkner will take part in the hearings as well.

US Helsinki Commission functions from 1975 and controls implementation of regulations of OSCE acts.
