Profits of enterprises and companies operating in Azerbaijan rose by 41 percent in 1st quarter of 2008, State Statistical Committee reports. The enterprises made AZN 1,165 million profit and suffered AZN 249 million loss within this period. The 61% of total profits was made by industrial enterprises.

Transport enterprises made 4%, communication enterprises 5% and construction companies 5% of total profit. Industrial companies suffered 77%, construction companies 7%, trade and service 2%, transport companies 2% and financil enterprises 1% of total loss./ANS TV/
