Heavy rains flooded many houses in Azerbaijan’s Sheki region
Power supply was stopped as the result of natural disaster.
Heavy rains in the north-western part of Azerbaijan caused a natural disaster last night. The storming rains paralyzed energy supply of Sheki region. Electric poles were cut as a result of storm and left the towns and villages of the region without electricity. Streets and underground floors were flooded. The wind cut roadside trees and created traffic problems. Despite that energy supply of some areas was restored, a number of villages are without electricity still. Spokesman for the Emergency Commission under the Executive Power of Sheki Region Valeh Alakbarov said they were informed about the damages in the different areas of the region. /APA/ © 2008 Bütün hüquqlar qorunur.
