The official death toll for the earthquake the day before yesterday has worsened. The earthquake devastated south western China and there are around 15,000 known deaths according to the News agency 'Xinhua'. The official figure is 14,866. Along with this there are thousands missing, buried under the rubble of the collapsed buildings and of whom there is no trace; this will cause a new increase in the number of victims of the quake.
