Presentation of the book “Rights of minorities: International acts and Legislation of Georgia” was held within the visit as well.
The members of Azerbaijani Milli Majlis (Parliament) Gultakin Hajibayli, Lala Abbasova, Nasib Nasibli and Musa Guliyev have left for Georgia. The delegation started their visit with putting bunches of flowers around the bust of All-national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev in Tbilisi. Later the Azerbaijani MPs visited Kvemo-Kartli Borchali region of Georgia where Azerbaijanis live mostly. Presentation of the book “Rights of minorities: International acts and Legislation of Georgia” was held within the visit as well. First deputy Chief of Marneuli region Executive Power Huseyn Yusifov opened the meeting. The author of the book Gultakin Hajibayli spoke about Azerbaijan and Georgia historical friendship and its ongoing development. G.Hajiyeva underlined the book “Rights of minorities: International acts and Legislation of Georgia” envisaged Azerbaijanis living in Georgia to know clearly their rights and duties as well as to strengthen their integration into Georgian community. The book comprises a number of legal acts, international documents, conventions related with minorities. The advisor of the Georgian President on national affairs Tamara Kintsurashvili spoke about historical roots of the friendship between Azerbaijani and Georgian peoples and stressed a brothetr’s solidarity of Azerbaijan with Georgia during the last August events. Members of Georgian Parliament Ramin Bayramov, Irakli Kavtaradze, Georgi Imnadze, the representatives of Georgian Azerbaijanis, reprtesentative of the Embassy of Azerbaijan republic in Georgia Shovgi Mehdizade as well as the advisor of Georgian President Mubariz Garayev and others participated in the event. Azerbaijani MPs also held meetings with the Azerbaijanis living in the region, were familiarized with their condition and held a round table with the representatives of the relevant structures and discussed the ways of settlement of problems.
