Liberty Radio broadcasting was halted on Azerbaijani FM on the night of the New Year. The Ministry of Communication of Azerbaijan fulfilled the decision passed by the National Television and Radio Council of Azerbaijan (NTRC). The radio continues its activity through short frequencies, Internet and satellite launch and all programs are available on the previous broadcast schedules, Liberty Radio’s Azerbaijani service informed. Programs of BBC and Voice of America shall be broadcasted through two versions. They are short radio frequencies and Internet. No change is expected in the terms of programs as well.

Remind that, a decision on halting broadcasts of the foreign radios in the territory of the country as from January 1, 2009 was passed at the meeting of the National Television and Radio Council of Azerbaijan on December 30, 2008.
