The main theme of the discussion at the meeting was ensuring transparency and boosting of effeciency in oil markets.
The meeting of energy ministers of 27 key oil-producing and consuming countries was held in London, UK. In addition to OPEC countries, energy ministers of about thirty countries as well as representatives of International Energy Agency (IEA), International Enegy Forum (IEF), local and international oil companies also attended the meeting. British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and British Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change Ed Miliband was also among the attendants. Azerbaijani Embassy in the UK informs that British Prime Minister noted in his opening speech that the meeting was dedicated to cooperation among oil-producing and consuming countries, establishment of direct dialogues between them and stabilization of oil prices in the world markets.,
The discussions were thus concentrated mainly on different aspects of establishment of direct dialogues between oil-producing and consuming countries, particularly boosting the efficiency and ensuring the transparency in oil markets. Azerbaijan is represented at the meeting by a delegation headed by Minister of Energy Natig Aliyev. /ANS PRESS/
