Shant Arutunyan, the leader of «Tsekhakron» party says Russia took a political revenge for his anti-Russian opinions.
Russia is accused of March 1-2 events in Armenia. Speaking at the court process of the arrested persons accused of a coup attempt in March events, Shant Arutunyan, the leader of «Tsekhakron» party, claimed that they take a political revenge from him as he opposed to imperialist ideas of Russia in his writings. “On September 21, 1991, Armenia was declared an independent country. But Russia wants to restore totalitarian regime in the country, which is its close-ally,” said Arutunyan. According to him, the Russian general Yeryomin was in Armenia and led some activities carried out by Armenian police during the March incidents. “Why was he is Armenia, for what reason? I demand to call the employees of the Russian Embassy to witness on this,” Arutunyan concluded. /ANS TV/
