A meeting of Turkic Parliamentary Assembly is being held in Istanbul today. The Consul General of Azerbaijan in Istanbul Sayyad Aran informs that the first part of the discussion has already ended. The chairman of Turkish Grand National Assembly Koksal Toptan in his speech stressed the importance of establishment of Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic countries.  

“Zaman-Azerbaijan” newspaper informs that Turkish President who addressed the meeting also supported the idea and said that realization of the idea bore a huge importance for Turkic countries. Afterwards, the chairman of Azerbaijani parliament and the head of Azerbaijani-Turkish Interparliamentary Friendship Group Nizami Jafarov also addressed the meeting. Aran said that the delegates from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstani and Kyrgyzstan took part in the meeting.» Conference participants expressed their will over Uzbek and Turkmen participation next year”, said Aran.
