The heavy clash took place between the Turkish security forces and the PKK rebels in Kayacik village of Lice town of Diyarbakir province Wednesday evening, said the report.
Four members of the banned Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) and two Turkish soldiers were killed in a clash in southeastern Turkey on Wednesday, the state-run Anatolia news agency reported. The heavy clash took place between the Turkish security forces and the PKK rebels in Kayacik village of Lice town of Diyarbakir province Wednesday evening, said the report. It added that two soldiers of the security forces were also killed and four others wounded in the clash. A large-scale operation in fight against the PKK rebels in the region is underway, said the report. The PKK took up arms in 1984 to create an ethnic homeland in southeastern Turkey. Some 40,000 people have been killed in the over-two-decade conflict.
