Delegations of Defense Ministries of eleven CIS states are to take part in a session of the Council of the CIS Ministers of Defense in Saint Petersburg on October 15.
Delegations of Defense Ministries of eleven CIS states are to take part in a session of the Council of the CIS Ministers of Defense in Saint Petersburg on October 15, Kazinform reports. Issues of interaction of defense departments of the Commonwealth and prospects of military integration will be on the agenda of the meeting.
According to the Kazakh MinistryТs press service, about twenty issues on different directions of the CIS defense departmentsТ interaction will be considered. In particular, the participants will focus on the results of the work of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS in 2008 and will discuss the CouncilТs activity on military integration development for 2009.
The regular 55th sitting of the Council will be chaired by Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Anatoly Serdyukov. Delegations of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine are expected to take part in the work of the session.
