Azerbaijani judoist wins World Cup
Elkhan Mammadov won Russian athlete in the final.

Azerbaijani judoist Elkhan Mammadov has won World Cup by defeating Russian athlete Dmitri Gerasimenko in the final game. Earlier Mammadov overcame his Canadian opponent Robert Edward in the 70kg class throwing him over for an ippon. In the quarterfinal Mammadov faced with Victor Semenov of Russia who proved to be far tougher than the previous opponents. Nevertheless, Mammadov could make it to victory in the last minutes. In the semifinal Mammadov defeated his countryman Yasin  Qarayev. /ANS PRESS/
