About twenty requests, however, were made by foreign media agencies.
About 1104 international observers from 59 countries have gone through Central Election Commission’s (CEC) accreditation in order to observe the presidential elections in Azerbaijan scheduled on October 15, informs Mazahir Panahov, the chairman of CEC. But it is not the final figure, since accreditation process is still being carried on. International media services, however, have made about 20 requests and they will be provided with the adequate condition to observe the elections, says Panahov. It includes Reuters, Associated Press, NTV-Russia, TRT, Vesti, France-Presse. In addition, the representatives of those international media services who have been granted with work permission in Azerbaijan will be able to freely observe the election together with the local journalists. In addition to media means, the representatives of foreign embassies in Azerbaijan will also be able to observe the elections. It includes the US Embassy with 40 representatives, the United Kingdom, 20 representatives as well as French, Italian, German, Ukraine embassies among others. Moreover, the members of Russian, Ukraine, Kazakh, Lithuanian Central Election commission will also take part in the elections. /ANS PRESS/
