A group of intelligents of West Azerbaijan released statement today. The statement says the international organizations including European Union observing the elections should make a new political scheme. The feeble attempts of several persons boycotting the elections and the pre-election competititon of the seven presidential candidates are on focus of attention of the community.”Unfortunately, some forces in and out of Azerbaijan who do not want to admit the realities of the day demonstrate destructive position. We should not be indifferent to the activities of some persons who attempt to create confrontation in the community and to reject the fact that Ilham Aliyev is the President of Azerbaijani people. You know the slogans as if “the existing power will hold persecution against West Azerbaijanis after the elections”, “West Azerbaijanis support the boycotting camp”, “If the Hafiz Hajiyev who is from west Azerbaijan by origin does not withdraw his candidacy to presidency and not join the boycotting forces every possible campaigns will start against him” are still being advanced in press.

We, being the West Azerbaijanis consider such slogans breed discord in the community. Moreover these caluminators keep not admitting the stability in the community, solidarity of people around fundamental aims they are up in arms against West Azerbaijanis, who were the leading force in implementation of many projects of Azerbaijani national leader for revival of our state of Azerbaijan. The authors of the statement underlined that Ali Insanov, their counterpart is rightly punished for his actions and anybody acting against the bases of the state should be punished the same way as well. And this ensures the feeling of social justice of West Azerbaijanis, stimulate their fight against corruption and bribery, supports being more united around policy of President Ilham Aliyev.

This is why the representatives of West Azerbaijan have comprised the key base of power electorate of power since long years and will surely take part in the presidential elections in the country. And participation of two west Azerbaijanis – Ilham Aliyev and Hafiz Pashayev in the presidential elctions inspires us”.  The intelligents consider the attempts of some persons to create an unsatisfired electorate of West Azerbaijanis will never come true".
