Several hundred demonstrators lined the road from Yerevan's airport on Saturday to protest against the imminent arrival of Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Hurriyet reports.
The protesters carried Armenian flags and signs reading: "Recognize the Genocide" and "Open the Border Without Preconditions." Gayane Manukian, a spokeswoman for the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutiun) which organised the protest, said protesters would extend a human chain all along the road from the airport to the centre of Yerevan. She said the action would be calm and peaceful. "There will be no shouting or chanting of slogans," she said.
