Former chairman and employees of Rasulzade settlement municipality of Binagadi District in Baku were sentenced with the charge of bribery at a meeting of the Serious Crimes Court on September 5.

Majnun Aliyev, the former municipal council chairman was sentenced to eight-year imprisonment, Aydin Ismayilov, the former head of the municipality’s economy department – to three-year and employees of the department, including Nizami Azizov – to six-year, Nuru Mammadov – to five-year and Ingilab Agalarov – to six-year imprisonment.

The crime was investigated at the Prosecutor General’s Counter Corruption Department.

The above-mentioned people were arrested, when they received bribes while distributing lands amongst citizens. /TrendNews/
