The delegation led by Hungarian Speaker Katalin Szili had meetings at the Azerbaijani Parliament.
Speaker of Hungarian Parliament Katalin Szili has paid an official visit to Azerbaijan. Hungarian Speaker briefed journalists about her first visit to Azerbaijan. The delegation led by Szili had meetings at the Parliament. She said Hungary would open Embassy in Azerbaijan in October. The Hungarian Speaker told opening of Hungarian Embassy in Azerbaijan will serve to extention of bilateral relations between the two countries. Azerbaijani Speaker Ogtay Asadov underlining trade relations are weak between Hungary and Azerbaijan told acceleration of relations with Hungary is being planned. The Speaker underlined Hungary and Azerbaijan are partners in NABUCCO project told economy of both countries is growing day by day. Azerbaijani Speaker giving information about Armenian-Azerbaijan conflict over Daqliq Qarabaq stressed that support of Hungary , the member state of European Union as other international organizations is necessary in solution of the conflict. The Speaker also told a monument will be erected in Hungary to the memory of Khojali genocide committed by Armenians against innocent local residents, and the other - to the memory of victims of 1856 events of Hungarian people in Gabala this year. Katalin Szili: “My visit to Azerbaijan is continuation of official visits have started since early this year. We shall discuss situation in South Caucasus during my visit. At the same time energy issues and energy policy and friendship between the two countries will be discussed. Extention of relations with Azerbaijan and strengthening of relations generally with official Baku and European Union is very significant for Hungary”.
