Paralympic Games will kick off in Beijing, the capital city of China on September 6. Seven sportsmen will represent Azerbaijani national team of light athletics in Paralympic  Games in Beijing. Azerbaijani athletes continue trainings. The longjump winners of golden and silver medals of Athens Olympic Games Oleg Panyutin and Zeynaddin Bilalov will also take part in the competitions. The other 4 athletes will make their debut in Paralympic Games. Vugar Mehdiyev, Elchin Muradov and Rza Osmanov are expected to justify hopes. And Vladimir Zaychev will demonstrate his longjumping cababilty. Ulukhan Musayev, a pretender to shot put will do his best to win golden medal. Head coach of the team: “All guys are ready for the competitions. We can hope for surprise from them. They are eager to win golden wedal. We had also won two medals in Paralymic Games- 2004”.   

Azerbaijani paralympists will leave for Beijing on September 1. Azerbaijani paralympists will compete on light athletics beginning from September 8.
