Qarabaq Liberation Organization (QAT) strongly rejects the idea of Caucasion Union initiated by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Azerbaijan’s attempt to join it as well as carrying out talks on it with Armenia.

The statement launched by QAT today says that Armenia continues occupation of Azerbaijani territories and does not resign from its territorial claims against Turkey and continues propaganda of the so-called genocide over the entire world. Then what talk can ever be held about being in the same union with this country-aggressor and terrorist”.  

The statement says that this unexpected attempt of brother Turkey as to give helping hand to Armenia through this suggestion, to enable the aggressor to become a rightfull member of the region by no means cannot be called a positive event. “There is no place for Armenia in “Caucasion Union” until it keeps the policy of aggression and annexation. And the leadership of Turkey should know this and abstain from unwanted proposals.  

We consider another reason of this proposal is connected with the EU’s pressure on Turkey which demands to normalize relations with Armenia. And Turkey tries to use this initiation for normalization of its relations with Armenia. This turmimg of the events suggests that Turkey will break away with Azerbaijan, open its borders with Armenia and will comprimize to country-aggressor.    

QAT states that Turkey should reject the idea conforming interests of neither Turkey nor Azerbaijan. And Azerbaijani leadership should step aside from this antinational procedure: “We closely watch the course of the events and we are going to organize mass actions of protest if this policy continues”.
