Igbal Aghazadeh, chairman of Umid (Hope) Party, has gathered 50 000 signatures to run for presidency. Mr. Aghazadeh told ANS PRESS that those signatures were gathered from different constituencies. "The signatures will be presented to the Central Election Commission at 11 am Thursday. Though we faced certain problems in regions caused by the local administrative bodies, we could manage to gather 10 000 more signatures than required," added the Party chairman. Presidential elections will be held on October 15, 2008 in Azerbaijan. A man should submit 40 000 signatures to the Central Election Commission to be registered as a presidential candidate.
