Trial on the criminal case of Sergei Stekalin, accused of injuring “Azadlig” newspaper’s reporter Agil Khalil started in the Nasimi District Court today. ANS PRESS informed that Agil Khalil has been brought to the court room by the police, but he demanded to begin trial after the arrival of his lawyer. The reporter’s petition has been accepted. The trial has taken time off. Editor in-chief of “Azadlig” newspaper’Azer Ahmedov came to the trial.  Shahin Abdullayev, Judge said the trial will commence after Agil Khalil's representative comes to the process.    

Stekalin is accused on Article 127. 1 (deliberate causing of minor serious harm to health) and Article 234.1 (illegal purchase or storage without a purpose of selling of narcotics or psychotropic substances in a quantity (amount) exceeding necessary for personal consumption) of the Criminal Code.
