“Memory” directed by ANS Group of Companies President Vahid Mustafayev won “Best movie perpetuating the memories” nomination.
Award ceremony of “Heydar Aliyev” International Film Festival organized by VVS Company of ANS Group of Companies jointly with Youth Union of ruling “New Azerbaijan Party” was held today. MP Mubariz Qurbanli, deputy secretary of the Party, who also took part in the ceremony, stressed that organization of the festival by ANS is not coincidence and late Heydar Aliyev always maintained close cooperation with ANS. ”Heydar Aliyev had always maintained a close cooperation with ANS. It is not coincidence that even while being at Cleveland Hospital, his appeal to Azerbaijani nation was broadcast on ANS.”-added Qurbanli. Afterwards, films were awarded. “Memory” film directed by Vahid Mustafayev, president of ANS Group of Companies, was announced winner in “Best movie perpetuating the memories” nomination. “Scenes dedicated to Heydar Aliyev” (directed by Mehpara Najafova, AzTV) and “The history of one smile” (directed by Nazim Ahmadov, “Lider TV“) were both awarded best films for “Most emotional film” nominations. “In the guard of Motherland” (directed by Eldar Quliyev) , “Supreme Love” (directed by Akif Arifoghlu, Lider TV) and “Heydar Aliyev in the protection of Azerbaijani culture” (directed by Iqbal Mammadaliyev) films won in “The best documentary film” nomination. Honour diplomas were handed to winners. Film contest were announced for “Heydar Aliyev” International Film Festival and it finished on April 26. About 40 films were submitted to the festival. The jury included a number of prominent public, culture and art members. The films were chosen on the bases of such characteristics as fully depicting the character, retaining the memories etc. About 20 films depicting Heydar Aliyev`s activities in various times were displayed in the festival.
